West Palm Beach · APD Fingerprinting

APD fingerprinting in West Palm Beach.

Agency for Persons with Disabilities screening for West Palm Beach direct service providers, group home staff, and waiver providers.

Overview

APD Fingerprinting for West Palm Beach.

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities oversees services for Floridians with developmental disabilities, and everyone who delivers those services is screened. Direct service providers, group home and supported living staff, behaviour analysts, companions, and personal supports workers all fall inside the requirement, as do the owners and administrators of provider organisations.

APD screening is Level 2 under the same statute as healthcare and childcare screening, and results are deposited in the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse — the same shared repository AHCA, the Department of Health, and DCF use. That means a photograph is captured alongside your fingerprints, and it means a current result can sometimes be retrieved by a new provider rather than repeated.

Local Service

Local to West Palm Beach.

Our counter is in West Palm Beach, which makes this the simplest version of the trip for anyone local. West Palm Beach is the county seat, and the address on our door, and the requirement is nearly always the same underneath: fingerprints captured properly, submitted to the right agency, the first time.

We serve clients across West Palm Beach including Downtown, Northwood Village, El Cid, Flamingo Park, Grandview Heights, and SoSo, as well as nearby communities such as Palm Beach, Riviera Beach, and Lake Clarke Shores. Landmarks like Clematis Street, Rosemary Square, and the Norton Museum of Art put us on familiar ground — this is home-turf service, not a mail-order queue.

Being the county seat concentrates a particular kind of demand here. Court-adjacent work, county and municipal hiring, the downtown financial and legal corridor, and the hospital campuses all generate screening requirements, and most of them route through agencies within a few miles of our counter.

The practical advantage for residents is simply proximity. There is no drive to plan around, which matters most when a licensing deadline moves or an employer needs a submission in before a start date. Book a lunch-break slot and the whole thing is done.

We are at 500 S Australian Ave, Suite 600, just off Okeechobee Boulevard, booking Monday to Saturday with same or next-day slots. We also handle apd fingerprinting for clients in nearby Palm Beach, Riviera Beach, Palm Springs.

Requirements

APD, AHCA, and the shared Clearinghouse.

Four Florida agencies share one screening repository: APD, AHCA, the Department of Health, and DCF. Your Level 2 result is deposited in the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse and, where your status is kept current by an associated employer, retrieved rather than repeated when you move between participating providers. For people who work across disability services and healthcare, that shared repository is genuinely useful.

It works only when the record is complete, which is why the photograph matters as much here as it does for AHCA screening. A submission without it posts as an incomplete record and your provider can't retrieve it. We capture the photograph in the same appointment, against the neutral background the specification calls for, so nothing has to be repeated.

Avoid This

Four ways this goes wrong.

Paying For A Repeat

If your Clearinghouse result is current, a new provider can often retrieve it. Have them check first.

Letting Your Status Lapse

Retention depends on an employer maintaining your status. Dormant records expire.

Using The Wrong Provider ORI

Provider organisations hold their own ORIs. Use the one for the entity actually enrolling you.

Screening Without The Photo

The Clearinghouse requires a photograph captured with the prints. Without it the record is incomplete.

Turnaround

How long it takes from West Palm Beach.

The capture itself is the quick part — roughly ten minutes at the scanner, a little longer when a photo or a printed card is involved. Electronic submissions leave our office the same day, so nothing sits waiting on a courier or a weekly batch run.

What happens after that is the agency's clock, not ours. State and federal processing typically returns a result within a few business days, and posting to a board or to the Clearinghouse follows from there. If you are working against a start date or a filing deadline, say so when you book from West Palm Beach and we will tell you honestly whether the timeline is realistic rather than finding out later that it wasn't.

How It Works

Four steps. One visit.

01

Confirm Your Provider

Which provider organisation is enrolling you decides the ORI. We verify it before capture.

02

Prints And Photograph

Rolled and flat impressions plus the Clearinghouse photograph, against the required background.

03

Same-Day Submission

The complete record transmits the same day and posts under your Clearinghouse profile.

04

Your Provider Retrieves It

Once posted, the enrolling provider pulls the result directly. Nothing for you to carry.

Pricing

Flat pricing.

One flat fee, all-in — the state fee, the federal fee, and the AHCA retention fee are already inside it. Nothing is added at your appointment, and we don't charge a separate rolling fee on top.

FAQ

West Palm Beach questions.

Does APD screening cover healthcare work?

Where both providers participate in the Clearinghouse and your status is current, a result can often be retrieved rather than repeated. Ask the new employer to check.

What if my enrolment lapses?

A dormant Clearinghouse record can require rescreening on return. Keeping your status current through an associated provider is what preserves it.

What are your hours?

Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday noon to 5pm, closed Sundays, all by appointment with same or next-day slots.

Is APD screening the same as AHCA screening?

Both are Florida Level 2 screening and both deposit results in the same Clearinghouse, but they route under different agency ORIs. Which applies depends on the provider enrolling you, not on the work itself.

I already have a Clearinghouse result. Do I need a new one?

Often not. APD, AHCA, DOH, and DCF share the Clearinghouse, so a current result can frequently be retrieved by a new provider. Ask them to check before you book.

Do you take the photograph?

Yes, in the same appointment and against the neutral background the Clearinghouse specification requires. A record without it is incomplete.

Do owners and administrators need screening?

Yes. Owners, administrators, and controlling interests of provider organisations are screened alongside direct service staff.

How long do results stay valid?

Generally five years while your employment status is maintained in the system by an associated provider. If the record goes dormant you may need rescreening.
