The Agency for Persons with Disabilities oversees services for Floridians with developmental disabilities, and everyone who delivers those services is screened. Direct service providers, group home and supported living staff, behaviour analysts, companions, and personal supports workers all fall inside the requirement, as do the owners and administrators of provider organisations.
APD screening is Level 2 under the same statute as healthcare and childcare screening, and results are deposited in the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse — the same shared repository AHCA, the Department of Health, and DCF use. That means a photograph is captured alongside your fingerprints, and it means a current result can sometimes be retrieved by a new provider rather than repeated.
Staff delivering waiver services to individuals with developmental disabilities are screened before placement.
Group home and supported living employees fall squarely inside the requirement.
Behaviour analysis providers and assistants are screened under the same standard.
Companion, personal supports, and respite workers are screened before client contact.
Owners, administrators, and controlling interests of provider organisations are screened.

Four Florida agencies share one screening repository: APD, AHCA, the Department of Health, and DCF. Your Level 2 result is deposited in the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse and, where your status is kept current by an associated employer, retrieved rather than repeated when you move between participating providers. For people who work across disability services and healthcare, that shared repository is genuinely useful.
It works only when the record is complete, which is why the photograph matters as much here as it does for AHCA screening. A submission without it posts as an incomplete record and your provider can't retrieve it. We capture the photograph in the same appointment, against the neutral background the specification calls for, so nothing has to be repeated.
The Clearinghouse requires a photograph captured with the prints. Without it the record is incomplete.

Retention depends on an employer maintaining your status. Dormant records expire.
Provider organisations hold their own ORIs. Use the one for the entity actually enrolling you.
