Jupiter · Level 2 Background Check

Level 2 background check in Jupiter.

The fingerprint-based screening Florida statute requires for positions of trust — captured near Jupiter and submitted the same day.

Overview

Level 2 Background Check for Jupiter.

Level 2 is a legal standard, not a product. Florida statute defines it as fingerprint-based screening covering state criminal history through FDLE and national criminal history through the FBI, and it applies to anyone in a position of special trust — roles involving children, the elderly, or people with disabilities. When an employer or board says “you need Level 2,” they are pointing at that statutory definition.

Because it's a standard rather than a single process, Level 2 screening runs through whichever agency governs your role. Healthcare employment goes through AHCA. Childcare and foster care go through DCF. Professional licences go through DBPR or the Department of Health. Schools go through the district. All of them are Level 2 — they just route to different places, and the routing is what we verify before capturing anything.

Local Service

If you live in Jupiter and someone has told you to get fingerprinted, this page is the short version of what that actually involves. Jupiter is marine, medical-research, and education employers in one small footprint, and the requirement is nearly always the same underneath: fingerprints captured properly, submitted to the right agency, the first time.

We serve clients across Jupiter including Abacoa, Jupiter Farms, Admirals Cove, Jonathan's Landing, and Inlet Village, as well as nearby communities such as Tequesta, Juno Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens. Landmarks like the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, Harbourside Place, and Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium put us on familiar ground — this is home-turf service, not a mail-order queue.

Jupiter packs marine industry, a significant medical research presence, and a well-regarded school district into a small footprint. The screening requirements differ sharply between them: research and clinical roles run through healthcare pathways, school staff and volunteers through district ORIs, and marine operators through their own licensing routes.

It is far enough north that the drive matters. Thirty minutes each way is a real cost when you are screening more than one or two people, which is why Jupiter employers tend to be among the more frequent users of on-site sessions.

Our office is about 30 minutes from Jupiter. We book Monday to Saturday, usually same or next business day, and for companies we can bring the equipment to you. We also handle level 2 background check for clients in nearby Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach, Riviera Beach.

Requirements

Level 1 or Level 2 — and where AHCA fits.

Level 1 is a name-based database search using your name and date of birth. It's quick, it's cheap, and for most Florida licensing and employment purposes it is not what's being asked for. Level 2 is fingerprint-based and reaches both state and national records. A Level 1 result will not close out a Level 2 requirement, no matter how recently it was run, because the two are not the same search.

It's also worth understanding that AHCA screening is one type of Florida Level 2 screening, not a different thing. If you work in licensed healthcare, your Level 2 runs through the Agency for Health Care Administration and the result is deposited in the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. Same statutory standard, specific agency route. The same is true of DCF, APD, and Department of Health screening — all Level 2, each with its own ORI.

Avoid This

Four ways this goes wrong.

Waiting Until The Start Date

Processing takes a few business days. Screening the week you start puts the date at risk.

Accepting A Level 1 Result

Employers occasionally run a name search and assume it satisfies a statutory Level 2 requirement. It doesn't.

Guessing The Agency Route

Level 2 runs through different agencies depending on your role, and each has its own ORI.

Assuming It Transfers

A Level 2 for one purpose does not automatically satisfy another unless the agencies share a repository.

Turnaround

How long it takes from Jupiter.

The capture itself is the quick part — roughly ten minutes at the scanner, a little longer when a photo or a printed card is involved. Electronic submissions leave our office the same day, so nothing sits waiting on a courier or a weekly batch run.

What happens after that is the agency's clock, not ours. State and federal processing typically returns a result within a few business days, and posting to a board or to the Clearinghouse follows from there. If you are working against a start date or a filing deadline, say so when you book from Jupiter and we will tell you honestly whether the timeline is realistic rather than finding out later that it wasn't.

FAQ

Jupiter questions.

How soon can Jupiter residents be screened?

Usually the same or next business day. Call (561) 475-4757 or send the request form and we'll confirm a slot and verify the ORI on the callback.

Who pays for employee screening?

That's between you and your employer. Many cover it as part of onboarding; others reimburse. We take payment at the appointment or invoice an employer account.

Can an employer see my full record?

Agencies receive an eligibility determination or record information according to the rules governing their programme. What an employer sees is set by statute, not by us.

What is an exemption from disqualification?

Where a result disqualifies someone, Florida provides a formal process to request an exemption from the relevant agency. It's a legal process rather than a fingerprinting one.

Do I need screening for a second job?

Possibly not, if both employers participate in the Clearinghouse and your status is current. Ask the second employer to check before you book.

Is AHCA screening the same as Level 2?

AHCA screening is one type of Florida Level 2 screening — same statutory standard, routed through the Agency for Health Care Administration and deposited in the Clearinghouse. If you work in licensed healthcare, that's your route. If you don't, your Level 2 goes through a different agency.

Which one does my Jupiter employer mean?

If the form says “Level 2,” “fingerprint-based,” or cites a statute, it means fingerprint screening. Read us the wording over the phone and we'll tell you which agency route applies before you book.

Does Level 2 include a national check?

Yes. Level 2 covers Florida records through FDLE and national records through the FBI. Level 1 is a Florida name-based search only.
