Hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, home health, hospice, clinics, and the agencies that staff them all fall inside it. AHCA screening is one type of Florida Level 2 screening — the statutory standard is identical, but the route and the repository are specific to healthcare.
That repository is the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, a shared database that lets any participating employer you're attached to retrieve your screening rather than printing you again. It has one requirement that catches people out: a photograph taken at the same moment as your fingerprints. Not one emailed afterwards, not one pulled from your licence. We capture it here, against the neutral background the specification calls for, in the same appointment.

It's an identity anchor rather than a formality.
In practice this is where submissions fail. A provider without photo capability prints you, sends the fingerprints, and the record posts with no image — then your employer can't complete the retrieval and you're asked to come back. Our system captures the photograph as part of the same transaction, on the specified neutral background. One appointment, complete record.

The capture itself is the quick part — roughly ten minutes at the scanner, a little longer when a photo or a printed card is involved. Electronic submissions leave our office the same day, so nothing sits waiting on a courier or a weekly batch run.
What happens after that is the agency's clock, not ours. State and federal processing typically returns a result within a few business days, and posting to a board or to the Clearinghouse follows from there. If you are working against a start date or a filing deadline, say so when you book from Jupiter and we will tell you honestly whether the timeline is realistic rather than finding out later that it wasn't.

It's one type of Florida Level 2 screening. The statutory standard is the same; AHCA is the agency route for licensed healthcare, and results are deposited in the Clearinghouse. If someone tells you that you need both, they almost certainly mean this one.
We take it at our West Palm Beach office in the same appointment as your fingerprints, against the neutral background the specification requires. You don't need to bring or arrange a photograph.
Ordinary clothing is fine. Hats and sunglasses come off, as with any identity photograph. There's no dress code and nothing to prepare.
Generally five years, provided your employment status is kept current in the system by an associated provider. If you leave the field and the record goes dormant, you may need rescreening on return.
Often not — that's the point of the Clearinghouse. If your result is current and your new employer adds you to their roster, they can retrieve it. Have them check before you book.
Fingerprints transmit the same day; posting typically follows within a few business days, after which your employer can retrieve it. Timing on the state side isn't something any provider controls.
